London: Savouring Science
Science is the area of study where students:
- Learn about the biological, chemical, physical and technological world
- Plan and conduct investigations to test out scientific ideas and explanations
- Understand that scientific knowledge has been developed over time by scientists from cultures all around the world
- Learn that the scientific understanding of the world is constantly changing due to continuing research and new technology (for example the current debate on global warming, climate change and stem cell research)
What better way to get them to understand the world around them and the role that Science plays in our society, than a visit to London to see some iconic attractions. Help them to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to find answers from a wide range of questions whether it’s biological, chemical, physical or technological.
Students will love this exciting, fun packed 1 night / 2 day educational visit to our vibrant Capital City. Our curriculum led tours are suitable for both GCSE Science and Biology pupils as well as A Level Psychology and Biology students. Why not combine a visit to London Zoo with the Royal Observatory Greenwich, The Royal Institution – Young Scientist Centre, the Freud Museum or the Thames Barrier. You may not be able to talk to the animals yet but students will be fascinated to learn what makes some appear intelligent or to observe the behaviour of particular species and apply this knowledge to the conservation work carried out by the Zoo. At the Observatory students can participate in a Discovery Day which are designed to be flexible visit days. It is up to you which sessions you select for your Discovery Day. You can choose from: a Planetarium show, a workshop, a gallery visit, use of the lunch room or all of these. Remember that all our tours are tailor-made to meet your needs and budget. So if you don’t see what you want just give us a call and see what we can do.
